When You Play Soccer, Basketball, Lacrosse and Track & Field

Meet Alli, a newly graduated senior at Newberg High School.  She has played four high school sports (soccer, basketball, lacrosse, and track and field) all four years of her high school career.  You might wonder how that is even possible since there are only three sports seasons in a given school year.  The answer?  In the spring, Alli plays lacrosse and competes in track and field at the same time.  The kid is like the Energizer bunny.  She goes and goes and goes and goes.

Not only did Alli compete in sixteen high school sports seasons,  she also earned spots on the Varsity rosters in each sport as a freshman and finished her high school career with SIXTEEN Varsity letters at a 6A high school.  Alli received All League Honors NINE times across all four sports: once for soccer, twice for basketball, three times for lacrosse, and three times for track and field.  She also played on Team Oregon – a group of elite lacrosse players who represented the state of Oregon at the National Tournament in Maryland.

Alli has earned John Wooden Awards for Enthusiasm (basketball), Condition (lacrosse) and Confidence (basketball). She was voted Most Team Spirit by her lacrosse teammates, awarded Offensive Player of the Year (soccer), and earned recognition for Leadership (lacrosse) and Commitment (basketball).  She also was awarded the Outstanding Student Athlete of the Year – Female at the All Sports Banquet her senior year.

Alli is known for her enthusiasm and fierce intensity.  She brings focused energy and a drive to get better to every workout. Alli devoted hours of her life to Newberg High School athletics and worked hard day in and day out for every single minute she played and every award she earned.  But if you asked her about athletics she won’t talk about herself.  She’ll tell you about her coaches and her teammates, victories gained as a team, and memories made along the way.  Humility is so attractive.

Alli graduated from Newberg High School with an honors diploma and a 4.00 cumulative GPA while playing four sports, working part-time, and volunteering regularly within the community and at her church. She will take her intellect and her athleticism to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor this fall where she plans to study Criminal Justice and play basketball for the collegiate team.

ATTA KID!  Your hard work, discipline, intellect, and energy inspire me.  Keep dreaming big dreams and putting in the work to achieve them.  To God be the glory!
