Alli and Livy

Livy and Alli met in kindergarten and have been fast friends ever since.  Livy is the only girl with three older brothers.  She loved coming to Alli’s house because Alli had two sisters, and Alli’s brother loved going to Livy’s to be around some boys.  The two families raised our brood of kids together.  This fall Livy told Alli about a college in Texas she had toured.  It sounded interesting and on a whim, Alli applied.  The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor was the first college acceptance Alli received.  Livy also applied and was accepted at UMHB.  Neither thought they’d end up going there, but God had other plans.

Livy liked the nursing program and the smaller university feel and chose UMHB this spring. Alli toured six universities over the winter and spring.  By early April she finally made her college decision: she committed to play basketball and study Criminal Justice at UMHB.  Alli told Livy about her decision while we were taking photos for prom and I caught that moment on camera. Who would have thought these childhood besties would both be directed by God to attend college 2,000 miles from where they were raised? We parents take great comfort in knowing they will have each other for support and encouragement.  We commemorated their college choices with a mini-session one night after school. Go CRU!
