Robin’s Last Chemo Treatment

My beautiful friend Robin found out she had breast cancer just before her 50th birthday. Some birthday present…

She has faced cancer with a sense of humor, joy, and authenticity that somehow takes the edge off how awful it really is to have cancer.

She has been real about her suffering. The anxious thoughts. The weakness. The side affects from the chemo. The itching and rashes and losing her hair.

She has invited her friends and her family into this journey and let us take care of her, even though she’s the one who is usually taking care of everyone else. Letting people serve you is a hard concept to embrace.

Robin’s last chemo treatment was on January 20th. She invited a handful of her friends to join her in celebrating the end of Phase One of Kicking Cancer’s Butt. Robin also let me bring my camera along to give an inside look into what a day in the life of a cancer patient really looks like.

Robin gave me permission to share these photos with you… to join her in this journey. She needs your strength and your prayers because tomorrow she starts Phase Two: a double masectomy.

Will you join us in praying for peace over Robin’s heart and mind? For freedom from anxiety or worry. For a night of good rest. For peace of mind for her husband and daughters. For skilled surgeons and nurses. And for a quick and safe recovery?

We love you Robin. Keep at it. You’ve got this.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7
