Portraits in a Bar

It’s a Saturday morning in November.  25 people from all over the metro area have gotten up early, fixed their hair,  put on their fancy clothes, and headed to the family farm for an 8:30 a.m. multi-generation family photo session.   8:30 a.m. on a Saturday!  The weather is NOT playing nicely with others. It’s dumping rain with heavy winds whipping the rain and everything else all over.  There is no way we can shoot this photo session outdoors.  But how do you pivot when everyone is already dressed and on their way?  You call your friends who own the local restaurant/bar and they give you permission to use their space.  And THAT is how we ended up shooting this multi-generation family photo session in a bar.  Gold stars to every single one of them for being willing to pivot and embrace a wildly different plan and to love the vastly different portraits that emerged as a result.
