Sydney

Sydney is a Class of 2024 senior… she’s creative. Artistic.  Entrepreneurial. Smart. Has an eye for fashion and design. She wanted a senior photo session that was different… an urban vibe shot in the dark.  Ironically I had been noodling on this exact kind of session and wondering when I could give it a try, so I was stoked when Sydney cast this vision at her consult. We met downtown Portland about 30 minutes before sunset on New Year’s Day. Started her session in the dusk before sunset and finished in the pitch black.  I used only the light from the city to illuminate the images and LOVE everything about the final product.  These photos are gritty, creative, fun, moody and glamorous.  We played with reflections in windows and even got some awesome reflections from lights in the signs.  I also love how many of these images translated so beautifully to black and white.  Thank you Sydney for experimenting with me and collaborating on such a fun project.  I hope you have a wonderful remainder of your senior year.
