Lacrosse Season: Class of 2020 COVID Style
My daughters play lacrosse. The 2020 season was Katie’s senior year and their last chance to play together. When the season got cancelled a handful of days before their first game due to the COVID pandemic, we shed big tears, and grieved a lot throughout the next several weeks. We missed all of the big and little things that make high school sports so special. My husband runs the clock for the all the home lacrosse games. He takes his job seriously, with comprehensive playlists of music to play during pre-game warm ups, time outs, and at half time. I am the team photographer, supplying the athletes and their parents with action shots of our girls throughout the season. We missed the camaraderie of teammates and their families. We missed seeing our girls out on the field, working together, and cheering them on. It felt like a big loss. Since we didn’t get any action shots this season, I took my girls to their high school field and we took some still shots of them with their lacrosse gear, to commemorate their 2020 season. I love you both.
