Gratitude for the Little Things
Jaime and I went to high school together. Â After 20+ years, we discovered that we both settled in Newberg. Â She was newly married and I was entrenched in raising my brood of active kids. Â We meant to get together, but never did and the years flew by. Â My kids got older. Â She had twins. In December, her husband had a scary medical emergency. Â It’s a miracle he’s alive. Â Family photos became a priority.
On a cold winter day, we met up for a photo session. Â It was so fun to finally meet her three year old twins and her husband. Â Initially, we tried to set up a traditional family photo portrait, but Jaime’s pre-schoolers (like most) were way more interested in exploring than posing for a photo. We ditched our list of posed photos and winged it. Â We played games. Chased. Walked. Sang songs. Danced. Piggy backed. Played at the park. Â The images that emerged are uncontrived and natural… actual captures of their family together in action and the love they all share. Â A fitting tribute to their family, the man they all love, and gratitude for the little things in life that give it depth, color and richness. Â Thank you Jaime and family. Â I am grateful for the time we spent together.
