Winging It

Two days before Christmas I met the Fritz family – all 17 of them – in downtown Portland for a photo session.  It was the start of a big winter storm with damp cold, wind, and intermittent rain showers and sun.  Totally winter in Portland, but there was no cancelling this session.  Four grown sons, their wives and kids, and their parents (married over 40 years) had travelled from three different states and coordinated outfits for 17 people, so we winged it. Piles of umbrellas, adults, kids and laughter tromped down the wet streets of Portland, looking for covered areas large enough to shelter our group.  It was loads of fun and I love how the photos turned out.

Thank you Fritz family for the rich legacy you are leaving.  I got a glimpse of what family photos will look like for our brood in a handful of years and I loved what I saw.  Life. Love. Long-standing marriages. Teasing. Laughter.  It’s so good. Merry Christmas!
