Dane
Dane has been a constant in our family’s story since we moved to Newberg. For more of the back story of how Dane and my son Grant became friends read this gem of a blog post that I just unearthed. I NEVER could have guessed the friendship story God would write between our boys over the next ten years. They have grown up together and it has been so fun to watch their story unfold. High highs. Low lows… They have walked through life together. I can’t believe their high school chapter is coming to a close so quickly.
I LOVE how Dane’s photos turned out. They are such a good reflection him. Creative, unique, water polo, fly fishing, beautiful outdoor spaces, good fashion… That’s Dane. It was fun to scheme up a plan, wing it on session day to find the perfect fly fishing location, and spend the morning with Dane and his mom who is one of my good friends.
I love you Dane. You’re like another son to me. I love watching you play water polo, especially your intense and skilled defense. I love how you still call me “Mrs. Stilp” even though I have corrected you no less than a thousand times. Your goofy grin and your witty sense of humor are my favorite. You are loyal in life and friendship. What a gift. You feels things deeply and passionately, another attribute that will serve you well long into your life. May God bless you Dane as you finish out your senior year and look toward the future. Great things are in store for you and I’m excited to cheer you on in this next chapter. Atta kid!
