the Schlachter’s

Ruth and I met at the gym shortly after my family moved to Newberg.  She was always friendly and ready with a smile.  We both loved running, but our schedules didn’t match up to run together for years.  Finally we were able to go on a run together and it was a LONG one… Ruth joined me for 18 of my 22 mile marathon training run.  It’s amazing the depth that friendship can go when you’re side by side, sweating and laboring together.  We left on that run acquaintances and came back as friends. I have been grateful ever since.  It was such a joy for me to photograph Ruth with her family.  Aren’t they lovely?  Thank you Ruthie for sharing your family with me and always spreading your joy.  I adore you!
