Burch Wedding – Josh + Lindsay
I met Lindsay in the child care area at the local gym. Each morning when I dropped my kiddos off, she took care of them so I could take care of myself.
When she told me she was a massage therapist, I hired her to help me get better from a chronic injury. You can NOT find a massage therapist that is better than Lindsay. Trust me. I’ve used massage for years and she’s the best in the business. It didn’t take long for my massages to turn into Catch Up sessions. A friendship quickly formed that has now spanned seven years.
I remember hearing about Josh, meeting him for the first time, and watching Lindsay glow when she talked about him. Knowing she felt safe in his love helped me trust him even when I really didn’t know him well. And then they got engaged. Such a romantic proposal and love story these two share.
When Lindsay asked me if I’d consider shooting their wedding, I said, “No. Weddings are too much pressure. I don’t do weddings.” But the more I thought about it, the more I couldn’t stand the idea of anyone else telling their story. Thankfully she hadn’t hired anyone else yet, so Lindsay and Josh sat down with me and my good friend Sara Shearer to talk shop. We went totally out of the box: Sara and I agreed to each bring our perspective and voice to Josh and Lindsay’s wedding, sharing the responsibilities equally. It was really fun to share the weight of getting it right on their wedding day. And it was REALLY fun to photograph a wedding when I was emotionally invested in the couple’s love story. I may have fought back tears a few times during their beautiful wedding day.
Here are my favorites from the images I shot on their magical wedding day (and just be a little crazy they are in reverse order).
Congratulations a million times over Josh and Linds. May Jesus continue to bless you as you follow Him on this grand adventure.
